- Your Phone Must Be rooted and you must install latest CWM before you flash.

How to Update Sony Xperia M to Android 4.4 Kitkat
Step 1: Connect your Phone to PC. And transfer the downloaded file to your phone memory.
Step 2: Turn Off your phone. Wait for a while. When your LED light turns pinks. Then Reboot it into Recovery mode by pressing Volume Up or down key Couple of times.
Step 3: Now make Nandroid Backup of your phone from Recovery. for this Go to Backup and Recovery >> Backup.
Step 4: Next select the Wipe Data / Factory Reset. Then select Yes to confirm Factory Reset.
Step 5: Now select Wipe Cache Partition. Then select Yes to confirm.
Step 6: Now to Install Zip file.
Select Install Zip>> Choose Zip from SD card. Browse the downloaded file of ROM in your phone.
Step 7: Now again follow Step 6 and this time select the Gapps file.
Step 8: Now Go back to Recovery menu and select Reboot system now.
Now when you phone reboot, you will have new Android 4.4 Custom ROM on your Xperia M.
