How To Root Samsung Galaxy S I9000 and install CWM Recovery

Samsung Galaxy S I9000 was the first phone of S series of Samsung, with its launching it was the huge hit. As such phone has great features and configuration. But like all phone, if you need to have full access on your phone then you need to root it.

Here in this article, I will tell you an easy and fast way to root  Samsung Galaxy S I9000 and also install CWM Recovery. Rooting is an essential process before you install Custom Rom on your device.

Before You Start Rooting

  • Your Phone must be 80% charge atleast.
  • You must backup all your important data.
  • USB Debugging must be On in your device ( To turn it on navigate to Settings>>Manage Application>>Development>>USB Debugging ).
  • Samsung Galaxy S drivers must be installed on your PC

To root Samsung Galaxy S, you need to download CF Root according to your Android 2.3.6 base-band version. To check your phone baseband version Go To Settings>>About>>BaseBand Version.

How to Root Samsung Galaxy S  I9000

Step 1: Power Off your phone and turn on it in recovery mode by pressing Volume Down + Home + Power key and hold for some time. An Android construction logo will appear. Now press Power/ volume Up button to confirm.
Step 2: Now Run Odin.exe file (Downloaded).
Step 3: Now connect your phone to pc via USB cable. When your phone gets connected to pc, Odin will automatically detect it. And an Added message will appear in the lower-left panel of Odin.
Step 4: Now click on the PDA button and browse and chose CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVU_2.3.6-v4.3.tar file.
Note: Make sure Auto Reboot and F Reset is checked
Step 5: Now hit Start to initiate the installation process.
Step 6: A green Pass signal will appear on odin. Now disconnect your USB cable.
Your device will reboot automatically. You have successfully rooted your Galaxy S I9000 and install CWM recovery.
